Will Claiming Compensation Cost Me Anything?

Will I Lose My Job Following An Accident At Work?

Again, normally no. If you have suffered injury as a result of your employer failing properly to protect you, making a claim should not lead to you being dismissed. Your insurer is required by law to have insurance to cover this and if your claim for compensation is successful it is the insurance company that will settle the claim, not your employer.

How Much Compensation Will I Receive?

This depends very much on the nature of your injuries. The compensation you receive is based on your injury and pain and suffering (called General Damages) and your compensation for losses and expenses. These include:

• Replacement car hire or motorcycle hire (where appropriate)
• Private Medical Treatment
• Out of pocket expenses (medication, bus or taxi fares)
