Lasting Powers of Attorney

Enduting Powers of Attorney can no longer be made (from 1st October 2007). If you wish to make arrangements for what might happen if you are unable to manage your own affairs.

A Lasting Power of Attorney provides greater safeguards against abuse of vulnerable old people.

Whereas an enduring power of attorney only related to property and affairs, a Lasting Power can authorise attorneys to make decisions about the personal welfare of donors, thus ensuring they can be better looked after.
